Buck-A-Book at Tam Valley Elementary

Buck-A-Book (BAB) is a beloved Tam Valley tradition that brings our school community together around the joy of reading. Families donate gently used children’s books, and during the event, students can shop for “new-to-them” titles—each for just $1. It’s a wonderful way to recycle books, build home libraries, and spark excitement for reading.
Shopping times are before school, during both recesses, and over the lunch hour. Parents are also welcome to browse before/after school and while waiting for conferences.
Highlights include:
Bookmark Challenge – 1 winner per grade; prize: $10 BAB gift certificate.
Scholarship Program – Ensures every student can participate.
Author Visits – Special guest authors will visit classrooms leading up to BAB week.
Books are collected during Walk-A-Thon/Spirit Week and up through the event. Donations are always welcome to be dropped off in the MPR. Thank you for helping us make Buck-A-Book a success!
