What is stem week?

Introducing STEM week! Students will enjoy all that science and math have to offer, including projects, interactive demonstrations, and games! Daily science, engineering, and math activities will be offered during school. STEM week will continue with two evenings of non-competitive science presentations, where students can display their love of science, math, and/or engineering.

STEM Week Dates: February 9th - 13th, 2026

Event Dates: TBA

Office Hours: (for students to come to the MPR after lunch to brainstorm with us their ideas for their project): TBA

Science Fair Sign-Up Deadline: TBA

This year, there are TWO ways for Tam Tigers to enjoy science week:

  • Prepare and share a project at one of the two evenings of science presentations: As always, Tigers from ANY grade are welcome to sign up to prepare a project for our STEM Fair (scroll down to learn more and sign up).

  • Check out a daily STEM activity: This year, we will have science, math, and engineering elective activities during the school day throughout STEM Week. Each day, there will be a science, math, and engineering theme with an activity at school that Tam Tigers can elect to check out during recess.

Parents can get involved, too:

  • Volunteers Needed: Are you interested in life sciences, math,  engineering, or technology? You can help students see how science, math, and engineering play out in the daily world.

We’ll also have hands-on projects that won’t require technical knowledge, just enthusiasm.  Stay tuned for more information on science and engineering themes, and parent sign-ups to help out!

Students who sign up to participate in the “STEM Fair” portion of STEM Week will prepare a science project using the scientific method to guide them. The Science Fair Nights will take place on TBA, 2026 in the Tam Valley School Multipurpose Room (MPR). (Student project presentations will be assigned to one of two evenings after sign-ups.) There will be time each night for students to present their own projects AND walk around to see what other Tigers did. Please see more info and guidelines here to learn more.

Great! You’ve registered. Click below to see participant details and next steps.
